I recently upgraded to WordPress 2.3 and also upgraded the backup plugin to 2.1.4 but I'm getting the gibberish e-mail problem that happened with a previous version of the backup plugin. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
I'm not sure what you mean by gibberish. Can you post the original text of the email (or at least the header) or send it to me at if.website@gmail.com ?
I guess I mean that instead of getting an attachment, it's showing the encoding in text?It seems to be the same or similar as the problem in the other forum post I linked to.
Here's an example:

Are you using any plugins that could be changing WordPress's wp_mail function---i.e. any plugins having to do with mailings?
Are you certain that you're using version 2.1.4 of WP-DB-Backup? This really looks like something 2.1.3 would produce; I'm not sure how it could happen in 2.1.4.

I don't think so. The plugins I'm using are: CompleteRSS, FeedBurner FeedSmith, Filosofo Old-Style Upload, Gregarious, Live, Spam Karma 2, Sphere Related Content, Subscribe me, WordPress Database Backup (of course), WP-ContactForm, WP Lightbox 2, and WP Plugins Tracker.
I even deleted the backup plugin and reinstalled it from scratch. It's definitely 2.1.4.
...just for fun, I just deactivated all plugins except for the Backup plugin. Same issue.
Well, that's baffling.
Try out the development version of the plugin here, and let me know if that fixes it.
Hey! That worked! I just tested it on 3 seperate sites and the e-mails are coming in as attachments now! Just out of curiousity, what changed?
Thanks!!!
