Actually, it's odd that you were able to see the backup screen at all. What version of WordPress are you using?
You can find the version of WordPress you're using by finding the number at the bottom of your admin pages. It should be something like "2.0.7" or "2.1".
I'm getting the same message. yes, I'm logged in as "admin"... it's my only login. I think I messed it up by downloading a new version (didn't realize I already had one)... is there a way to get the OLD version back? (I think it overwrote the new one?)

And yes the Bar reach 100% but Down the bar there is text indictor which says Curent DB table here is also show those 5 tables like its chosen to work with only this 5 tables.

I have the same problem. I'm an admin on the blog. We're running 2.0.1, does the new version only work with 2.1?

I am using WP 2.05 and the message I get after hitting the "Backup!" button is exact the same as previous posters:
“You are not allowed to perform backups.”
On a white screen...

If you're using version 2.0.5 of WordPress, then you should try using the version of wp-db-backup that came with that copy.
The advantages of the newest version of wp-db-backup are really only for version 2.1 and newer.
hmmm not to sure whether that version came with a back up functionality...will have a look though and let you know.

Are you sure that you\'re logged in as a user with administrator privileges?
for me the same: the message pops up in a javascript alert box and the wordpress is version 2.1 with your db plugin version 2.0.1.
it looks like the plugin is useless right now.

You can see the plugin version number under "Plugins" in your admin panel.
Does the problem happen when you download the backup, or just when it emails it to you?
When you download, does the progress bar reach 100%?
