Hi there, I encountered the same issue that everyday there will be more than 50 mails sent to my email account. The interval is once a day, WP v2.91 and plugin v2.2.2. I have to stop the automatic backup and do it manually now.
I have experienced the same problem, too. I set backups to be run once a week, and it happened again today, that I got one backup each minute until I stopped the backup schedule in the settings. I got 84 mails with backups until I noticed.
It happened before, then I reconfigured the backup and it was ok for some weeks, so it doesn't happen every week.
But now I am afraid how long/often the backup would run if I wouldn't stop it manually - e.g. when thinking about the holidays... ;-)
Unfortunately I have nothing to offer to give you more details, I just updated to Wordpress 3.0 last week, but it happened with WP 2.9.2 before. Maybe I will change the backup schedule to once a day and see what happens, so I have a better overview that I didn't change anything.
Nevertheless, thanks for your plugin :-)
And I would like to add that this is one of the best forum/blog designs I have seen.
Hello,
four days ago the backup plugin started to mail me 14—20 backups per day.
One should be enough.
Any idea how to stop that?
Regards
Thomas
What interval have you set it to send you backups?
What version of WordPress?
What version of the plugin?
The interval is once a day.
WordPress 2.8.6 and plugin version 2.2.2.
Did anything change prior to that? Did you install new plugin, for example?
No, I didn’t install another plugin. And the cron list looks okay too.
Yesterday I got 70(!) mails.
I’ve disabled the plugin and removed the backup directory. After the reenabling it was the same.
The strange thing is, I have this plugin running on other sites without any problems (not all on the same web host).
May I ask you to improve the check for sent mails, if possible?
Thanks
Thomas

This is WordPress's bug, in firing too many of the same cron job. I'm not sure how to work around it because I'm not sure what the cause is.
