Forgive me if this has already been suggested before, but yesterday I discovered where my backups are stored on my site. I also discovered there were 2 yrs worth of backups which I hadn't cleared out.

It would be great if the plugin settings page made clearer exactly where the backups were being stored (showing a filepath for example).

Even better would be a new feature allowing you to automatically delete old backups so you didn't have to go in & do this manually. You could set it to delete every backup but the most recent one; or to delete all backups older than a certain specified date.

The backups that are being generated by this plugin have one problem.

In the table wp_posts some of the entries are getting duplicated. Obviously since the ID is a primary key, there cannot be multiple entries with same ID but the backup file contains multiple entries with same ID. Due to this, I am not able to restore the backup.

I would have changed the sql file manually but there are lots of duplicate entries.

Earlier the plugin was generating proper backup files. Can anyone please suggest what is going wrong?

Yes second that - we use Wordpress to produce simple CMS sites for our clients - once a month backup option would be great - be easier for us and clients to manage

Like a lot of other people my backup is running, but it is not emailing me anymore (it used to).

I have just tried to run a manual backup and email and at the end of the process I get the following error:

error: undefined index: options

any ideas?

What should the permissions be on the backup directory? I have no idea. I wonder whether I may have broken something in upgrading from WP 2.0.7 as the backups worked fine with that.

I recently had to completely re-install WordPress for my blog site, so made a backup using this plug-in first.

The re-install was successful, but I have been unable to restore my database. The compressed (sql.gz) file is almost 10 MB and there's a 2MB limit to import files through PhpMyAdmin (running the plugin-for this since it's not available on my host). I've been working with my hosting company for 3 days, and so far they have not been able to restore the backup either. I'm just wondering if you have any advice for them - they seem to be stumped, as is my husband, who's been trying to find a solution from our end. After my upgrade to wordpress 2.9 i couldn't login to the dashboard of wordpress. I had no permission to view the page. The problem was, so i discovered, was de WP-DB backup plugin. When the plugin was deactivated everything went to normal.
So in my case the wp-db plugin is not compatible with wp 2.9.
Are there solutions for this problem, because i ihink it's a great plugin.

I have just downloaded this plugin but cannot seem to activate it properly. When I go to configure the backup options in Tools, as soon as I click 'Schedule Backup' or 'Backup now' I am taken to my homepage. None of the settings are saved. What am I doing wrong?

I've never had problems running this plugin before.

I just uploaded the upgrade and get this message when I try to run it: You are not allowed to create backups.

I have had the backup working nicely on 2 blogs for a few months, and backing up, saving to my computer once daily.

I upgraded to WP 2.8.1 last week, and now one blog will not backup.

I can perform the backup manually, but the automatic backup is not emailed to me. It looks like the backup is being scheduled, since when I look the next scheduled date is for the next evening, but I don't know whether this is an error in the plugin, or with some other setting affecting the email address maybe.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. I fear a crash...

How do I create this back up directory through my ftp which is Filezilla?

I have used your excellent plugin and I saw that some rows (records) are missed in the backup sent by email rather than the option "backup now" is showing all records.

The following tables are no the same quantity of records:
= fgt_blc_synch (two records of difference)
= fgt_postmeta
= fgt_posts
= fgt_ratings
= fgt_terms
= fgt_term_relationships
= fgt_term_taxonomy

I am a total newbie so please excuse any wrong jargon. I have been having backups of my WP site emailed to me daily. I made a big mistake in header.php the other day and need to look at a previous version of the code to see what I inadvertently deleted. So I went to look at my backup and found am unable to read a sql file. What should I do? If I upload this backup'd file from the other day will it overwrite everything I've done in the past 3 days (which is a lot)? Or after uploading do I get to choose just the section I want to restore. Will it automatically rewrite all my header coding? And how do I get this emailed file back into my godaddy server anyway? I need help! Thanks.

I find that if I choose the email backup option, I receive the backup completed window after backup. However, when I choose the download to computer option, although the file is downloaded & the backup indicates 100%, I never receive the backup completed window. Should I be concerned?

Exactly what does this backup plugin backup? My main interest is pages, but if my server packed up tomorrow, could I restore an identical version of my WP site? Themes? Images?

I'm running wp 2.6.5 and ever since Nov.20ish (upgrade to 2.6.1 I think) backups aren't being emailed. Both manual and scheduled email backups get stored on the server, but not emailed or deleted from the server.

Any guidance or advice? I'd appreciate it very much, Thank you,

I was happy to see a new edition of your plugin but unfortunately, the mail function does not want to work on my hosting.
It's a windows hosting in php4 and I need this plugin http://www.callum-macdonald.com/code/wp-mail-smtp/ to make the Wordpress mail function working . It worked on the same host in Linux hosting.

Why using the datbase backup to email, the attachment of email is corrupted?
It said that the "Size:95 kilobytes", but why the attachment actual size is 43k?

I backed up my blog with the latest version of the plugin and deleted all files including database and created new database.

When I import .sql file there is an error.

Any reason I don't have a "save to server" option for scheduled backups ? I would like to have my NAS periodically retrieve the backup from the server, but currently that is not possible.

Any chance that this is implemented ?

Great plugin! Thanks for the hard work.

I installed your plugin about 6 weeks ago and scheduled a weekly backup. For the first four weeks, the backups came in an email as scheduled. However, for the last couple of weeks, no backup has come. I can go in and manually backup and email it to myself, but I can't get the schedule to work.

Last week, I reset all of the settings and scheduled a backup, which should have occurred today at 2:41 pm. Unfortunately, 2:41 pm has come and gone, but no backup. Any thoughts or ideas?

Hi; does the backup plugin work with the XPertMailer plugin, that provides SMTP relay? The reason I aks is because I do not get any emails with my backup delivered to my email address, even though I get other mails from wordpress.

Any tips on how to delete backups which end up on server after using your plugin? Apparently the file and folder your software creates has some kind of tricky setting that doesn't let one just go in there with FTP and get rid of it... why is that, and how does one go about getting rid of the pesky things?

Love your plug in, does a great job, thanks! The only function I can't get working is the scheduled email. I set it to Hourly with my email address and nothing gets sent. Nor does the Next Back up time and date change. I tried adjusting cron.php as suggested in post in this forum: http://www.ilfilosofo.com/forum/topic/126.

Sending emails by selecting Backup to email and pressing backup button works a treat.

I'm using WordPress 2.5.1.
