I wanted it to say the correct number of comments, including the one being previewed, instead of "there are no comments". I achieved that by adding this simple snippet. Might be good to include as an option?

Just activated the plug in on WP2.7. When I Post or Preview, the web page goes blank. The URL is right and Firefox reports "done" in the status bar. If I reload, it gives me the POST DATA warning. Fluid Blue is my theme. What is it about my site that's causing this?

The only other plug in that might conflict is iG Syntax Hiliter.

I decided to try out the release candidate of WordPress 2.7, which among other things offers native support for threaded comments. The problem is that Comments Preview breaks that; it sends any attempted reply to a comment to the end of the comment list rather than threading it.

How can I place the submit buttons at a different position. For instance to have the post button also on the left.

I have made changes into the "mo file" to get a French translation of preview, submit buttons and messages... but it tranpires that modifications are not taken into consideration by wordpress. Is there something else to do ? Have you go a clue ?

Austin, do you have any guesses as to why I would get a Preview button on the comment form when I am logged in, but see no changes to the form when I am logged out? See here. Our theme is adapted from Sandbox, if that's any help.

In an older version of the plugin, there was an option to require the user to preview the comment before the 'post' button became available. This seems to be gone in the latest version.

I actually *liked* this option: it stopped some of the more naive spammers, and prevented people from embarrassing themselves with bad HTML. Are there any plans to restore it (or any quick hacks to the code that will provide similar behavior)?

I am looking to change the location of the preview comments so that rather than appearing underneath the published comments it appears underneath the comment form.

Hi, I have been using version 0.78 with problem, that is until I updated PHP to 5.2.2. Now the first preview/post area always shows using the default settings and the Preview button in fact posts the comment. It seems that submitbuttons() is now processed before the options hash is available so $subpage_general_array = $this->get_option('filosofo_cp_subpage_general_array');
always acquires default values.

I rolled back to PHP 5.1.1 and it worked OK again, so it is definitely this alone that is causing the change in behavior.

I updated to Comments Preview 1.01, but discovered that you've removed most of the functionality ;-( so I'm keen to stick with 0.78 if possible. (The main feature I require is to enforce the 'preview' step, so if you could reinstate this option in v.1 then I would be prepared to upgrade.)

.78 work well on my local server (MAMP - PHP 516 mysql5,019) but not on my ISP (PHP 521 mysql415)
1.01 work well on my local server (MAMP - PHP 516) but not on my ISP (PHP 521) - ie pb when comments are closed - the page is not totally built and stop just when call to comment is stop
(I use comments file from theme classic and WP213)
Curiously don't occur when classic theme is active..
The mysterous is global. Any ideas ?
This function's behaviour - obstart - has been changed in php 5.2.0 ???

I've recently upgraded to Comments Preview v1.0 and have encountered a couple of problems:

1. For a post where comments are closed, the sidebar disappears. For an example, see the "Testing, testing 1 2 3" post at my test site http://sairuh.org/

In fact, if I disable all plugins but Comments Preview, all single posts pages for posts with closed comments appear blank.

2. For a post where comments are open, when I click on the Preview button the resulting page is either blank (eg, my local test server), or contains a fatal PHP error. The latter can be seen when testing Comments Preview with the "Filosofo Comments Preview" post at my test site (again at http://sairuh.org/).

Is there something I need to modify in either my theme's comments.php file, or in your plugin file? My sairuh.org test site is using the Blogtxt theme, whereas my local site is using VeryPlainTxt --both available from http://plaintxt.org/

I installed Comments preview and it worked quite well. But after I installed Brian's threaded comments and replaced my comments.php with Brian's, "Preview" button dissapeared.

Is there any way to make your Comments Preview compatible with Brian's threaded comments?

I\'m trying to use Comments Preview with Wordpress 2.1, but it doesn\'t appear to work. I was using this plugin for 2.0.5 and 2.0.6 with no problems. Once I upgraded to 2.1, it complains about the file pluggable-functions.php missing on line 1240 (as that appears to have been replaced by pluggable.php in 2.1).

If I change it manually, it complains about:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get() in /path/to/wordpress/wp-includes/query.php on line 10

Then again, I see that it works just fine for you :) Any ideas?

Thank you for this great plugin ! I´m using it since yesterday and I´m still testing but it seems it works with wordpress version 2.1.1.
But my problem are the german umlauts like
ä,Ä,ü.Ü and ß within the preview function and also in the previous comments. How do I change this to display the correct characters ? I´m using charset=UTF-8
