For some reason the subject of what to call carbonated beverages has come up among friends a couple of times in the last week. I happened across this site, which seems to show that the usage of the terms “pop” and “soda” almost lines up with the “blue” and “red” states. How did this distinction start? And can politicians exploit this to win votes among their core constituencies?
